Virtualtech support vs. "Reseller" support
Why is our service better? Well, let's see how a support issue would be addressed by a reseller:
- You contact your host (reseller) with an issue.
- The reseller submits a support ticket with the parent company.
- The parent company attempts to resolve the issue.
- The parent company contacts the reseller with the solution, or a request for more information.
- The reseller submits another support ticket to the parent company with the required information.
- After a few more rounds of this, the parent company notifies the reseller that the issue is resolved.
- The reseller notifies you that the issue is resolved.
Now, let's see how a support issue would be addressed by Virtualtech.

If you are comparing our hosting packages with one of the commodity-based hosting companies such as GoDaddy or Rackspace, you will notice that we aren't providing a laundry list of specs to compare. Why?
Well, we have a much different business philosophy, that's why. Those companies focus on selling as many hosting packages as they can to anyone who is willing to pay their hosting fees. Conversely, Virtualtech's hosting plans exist for one reason only - to complete a turnkey package for our design clients. Because of this, except under specialized circumstances, Virtualtech no longer offers website hosting as a standalone product. If you are simply looking for a low-cost hosting account to host a website you designed yourself, you will probably find that Virtualtech is not the least expensive, and may not fit your needs.
Unlike the large hosting companies and ISPs, we do not see hosting as a commodity, but rather an additional service to our design clients. To assure that our quality of service remains superior, we do not grant hosting access to "just anyone who pays us"... meaning that only a handful of people have access to the server. We are very selective about which sites are hosted with us, which means that your site is hosted on the same server with our other professionally designed websites... not sharing space with bandwidth-gobbling, amateur-designed sites which can regularly crash a server (and take your site down with it). Those sites simply aren't allowed on our servers.
In general, nothing gets uploaded to our servers unless we do it. Why is this important to you? Because you trust us to maintain your Internet presence for you, and our pledge to you is that your website, the one we designed and maintain for you, won't suffer because your hosting "neighbor" crashed the server. How can we make that promise? Because we designed all of the other sites on the server too.
So, if you're looking for specs, here are the ones that actually matter to you:
- As close to 100% uptime as any provider can promise (look to the right to see real-world, up to the minute uptime statistics)
- 20 email boxes to start (if you need more, we'll make that happen too!)
- Web-based email access (great for traveling or when you don't have access to your main computer)
- Real-time server-level spam filtering (removes most unsolicited junk mail before you even see it)
And that's what you should care about. Our servers are built to our demanding specifications to efficiently run YOUR website, the one we designed for you. Bandwidth? Unlimited. Storage space? Doesn't matter to you... we designed your site for efficiency, and the amount of storage space needed is our problem, not yours. Backups? We maintain 3... one at the server facility, one in our office, and one offsite.
Our web hosting, email, and database servers are colocated within the Netsonic data center, located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Netsonic's data center is staffed 24/7 and is powered by dual gigabit links through the Internet backbone over high-speed fiber optic connections. Your data is safe and sound, as the facility is equipped with HFC-227ea gas fire suppression, remotely monitored security systems, diesel generator power backup, and redundant cooling. All data, including a complete system state, is backed up nightly in the unlikely event of a system failure. This translates to a recovery time of minutes, instead of hours or days.
Unlike many providers that are located on the east and west coast as well as Florida and the Gulf states (TX, LA, MS, AL, FL), the Netsonic datacenter is not susceptible to the major natural disasters those regions occasionally experience. Our servers are located in Wisconsin where hurricanes and earthquakes don't occur.
With our hosting packages combined with our website design and Internet marketing services, you can rest assured that your website is located with a company whose focus is on making your small business successful on the Internet... not a company who simply wants to sell as many hosting accounts as possible. You are not simply a number when you host your site with Virtualtech!

The high powered network is constantly monitored by both Virtualtech and Netsonic, and Virtualtech's 24/7 monitoring service immediately notifies Virtualtech personnel in the event of an outage so that we can address any problems immediately.
