Parrott Jungle Goes Green

Unique architectural solutions is why RJ Heisenbottle Architects was chosen for the historic Parrott Jungle restoration project. This project entailed removal of the burned out interior, restoration of the buildings damaged structure and retrofit with new electrical and mechanical systems. The architect first considered using one of the local concrete tile manufacturers in Florida, but quickly reconsidered when he found that Vande Hey Raleigh could accurately match the historic concrete roof tile. While the custom tile cost was higher, the architect recognized the need to maintain the buildings historic integrity and opted for quality and design authenticity rather than lowest cost.

GREEN IS: SUSTAINABILITY and DURABILITY
By Robin Ermer
Green Professional/Senior Estimator

“Vande Hey Raleigh was selected because of their ability to replicate & provide concrete roof tiles which match the original tiles destroyed by fire. Quality of product and efficient pricing”
Andres Montalavan – Project Manager

Did you know that concrete tiles are the strongest, most durable roofing systems available? Concrete is the oldest engineered building materials and one of the most widely consumed materials on earth!

Our noncombustible tile carries a UL Class A Fire Rating, is pest –resistant, resists harsh weather, will not rot in wet climates AND its proven durability has a limited lifetime transferable warranty.

Although the initial investment may be more to install, the lifecycle cost of a Vande Hey Roof outperforms other roofing material such as cedar or slate which may need to be replaced numerous times over the lifetime of the structure.
