Parrott
Jungle Goes Green
Unique
architectural solutions is why RJ Heisenbottle
Architects was chosen for the historic Parrott
Jungle restoration project. This project entailed
removal of the burned out interior, restoration of
the buildings damaged structure and retrofit with
new electrical and mechanical systems. The architect
first considered using one of the local concrete
tile manufacturers in Florida, but quickly
reconsidered when he found that Vande Hey Raleigh
could accurately match the historic concrete roof
tile. While the custom tile cost was higher, the
architect recognized the need to maintain the
buildings historic integrity and opted for quality
and design authenticity rather than lowest cost.
